FHUP Celebrates 61st Anniversary with First Doctoral Graduates and Groundbreaking for New Postgraduate Building

Jakarta, June 13, 2025 — To commemorate its 61st anniversary, the Faculty of Law, Pancasila University (FHUP) held a series of strategic events, including the groundbreaking ceremony for the Postgraduate Building and Student Center, the cutting of a tumpeng (rice cone), and the inauguration of six new doctorates from the Doctoral Program in Law. All events took place at the FHUP campus in Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

This event was also attended by the leadership of the Pancasila University Education and Advisory Foundation (YPPUP), including the Chairman of YPPUP Advisory Dr. (HC) Ir. Siswono Yudohusodo, the Chancellor of Pancasila University Prof. Dr. Adnan Hamid, S.H., M.H., M.M., the Chairman of the University Senate Prof. Dr. Ir. Budhi Muliawan Suyitno, IPM., the Dean of FHUP Prof. Dr. Eddy Pratomo, S.H., M.A., and the Chairman of the FHUP Senate Prof. Dr. Reda Manthovani, S.H., LL.M., who also serves as the Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence (Jamintel). Also present were the vice chancellors, faculty leaders, and the FHUP academic community.

In his remarks, Dr. (HC) Siswono Yudohusodo expressed his appreciation for the Faculty of Law and Human Rights’ (FHUP) progressive steps in improving educational infrastructure. He emphasized that this development reflects the spirit of sustainability, quality improvement, and institutional growth. “FHUP has demonstrated sound financial management, hierarchical leadership, and continuously improving academic quality—reflected in the success of its doctoral program, which graduated its first doctorates this year,” he said.

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of educational institutions’ readiness to face global challenges. “With national economic growth still hovering around 4 percent, graduates must be ready to compete in the global workforce, including in countries like Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Campus infrastructure must be able to meet the needs of the times: technology-based, adaptive, and collaborative,” he emphasized.

Echoing this sentiment, Pancasila University Rector, Prof. Dr. Adnan Hamid, emphasized that the construction of this building is an integral part of the university’s academic transformation. “FHUP continues to adapt its curriculum to the dynamics of the times. The presence of the Student Center is expected to provide a space for self-development and cross-level collaboration for students,” he said.

Lebih lanjut, ia turut mengapresiasi pencapaian akademik FHUP, khususnya dalam menghasilkan lulusan doktor hukum berkualitas. “Ini menjadi tonggak penting dalam misi universitas mencetak sumber daya hukum yang unggul dan berintegritas.”

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Humanities (FHUP), Prof. Dr. Eddy Pratomo, stated that the construction of the Postgraduate Building and Student Center is the embodiment of a long-held dream that is now beginning to be realized. “This four-story building will be constructed in stages using a multi-year scheme, supported by internal funding as well as contributions from FHUP alumni and strategic partners. This is a testament to the synergy and collective spirit of the entire FHUP family,” he said. The new building is expected to become a representative, modern, and inclusive center for academic activities and student development—answering the increasingly dynamic and global challenges of legal education.
